What Happens During Our Site Walkthrough

Before we quote any commercial cleaning contract, we walk the site in person. It's a deliberate first step, not a formality — the quote and the eventual scope of work are only as accurate as what gets recorded during that visit.

A floor plan tells you square metres. It doesn't tell you floor type, how many desks are packed into a room, whether a bathroom sees heavy daily traffic, or what access arrangements apply after hours. All of that changes labour time, and labour time is most of what a quote is actually pricing.

Every area, not just a total.: We walk room by room — offices, kitchens, bathrooms, reception, corridors — and note floor type, condition and the specific tasks each one needs.

Access and security requirements.: Keys, alarm codes, sign-in procedures and any after-hours restrictions are noted before they become a surprise on the first day of service.

Frequency and service expectations.: What's needed daily versus what can be handled on a longer, periodic cycle — carpet care, high-level dusting, internal glass — gets separated out early rather than lumped together.

Anything site-specific.: Sensitive equipment, product restrictions, or anything unusual about the space that a generic checklist wouldn't catch.

A proper walkthrough is what stands between a quote that holds up and one that quietly changes once the contract starts. If a provider is willing to quote your site without walking it, that's worth asking about.
